Biography
Georgia Clemson (born 1991, Birmingham) is a London-based artist. Her interdisciplinary practice comprises photography, sculpture, drawing, writing and collage. Boundaries, safety, memory and care are perpetual themes in her work along with other therapeutic concepts. Clemson’s practice is also driven by experimental colour darkroom processes that she uses to address issues surrounding the physicality of photography. She graduated with an MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art in 2019. She was shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries and her work has been featured in Vogue Italia. She was selected by Caroline Hunter (Guardian Weekend) as a top graduate of 2019 and was featured in a special graduate issue of Source Photographic Review. Her work has also been seen in Harper’s Bazaar and Art Seen Magazine. Clemson works as an art and photography tutor for young people and holds a position in the Fine Art faculty at Middlesex University. She is also a Photography tutor for Oxbridge Academic Programs. Clemson is represented by Arte Globale. Interviews and reviews can be found in the ‘Words’ section of this website.
